According to an american birder the lagoon at celestun can hold about a million of these birds in winter (we saw only one).

  36. Swallow-tailed Kite (Elanoides forficatus)This magnificent bird seems quite common at Tikal. Good places to see this birds are: Main Plaza and Mundo Perdido (one can see two nests from the top of the lower pyramid and one nest from the big pyramid).
